Following the unveiling of five new interior designs for the Oceanco 80m Simply Custom range, the Dutch yacht builder has revealed 12 new exterior designs, each designed to meet the different preferences of superyacht owners.
The Aurora designed by the British design studio North West Boatworks is one of the designs that stood out.
Aurora takes its name from the Roman Goddess of Dawn, the mythical deity of beauty and light, who renewed herself every day by flying into the sky to welcome the morning. On a yacht, that dawn brings a new location with untold possibilities wherever you drop your anchor.
Aurora captures the essence of this uncompromising beauty and expresses itself in the fluid lines of the hull and superstructure design, the unique use of glass, light and space.
Design cues are taken from the natural and automotive worlds: Sweeping feminine curves dance around each other, inspired by the elegance of the northern lights. The crisp creases and complex surfacing melded from the finest one-off hypercars
From the images we can see a special and different design with curves and glass surfaces that help it to harmonize with the environment and to connect the external and internal lines harmoniously and in an unconventional way.
At North West Boatworks, we believe a yacht is the most personal project an owner will undertake. Creating something that has no real need, yet which is conceived purely from passion, emotion and a reflection of the owner and their world.
Another core value for us is the understanding that simplicity and elegance never go out of style. We aim to walk the line between cutting edge and classic design, delivering projects that look as good in 10 or 15 seasons as they do on delivery.
Her design is accentuated by metallic accents, such as vertical details along the windows, creating a contrast that further emphasizes her sophisticated and avant-garde character.
