The Ocean Alexander 32 Legend, by Ocean Alexander, debuted at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2023. The superyacht began its evolutionary journey in 2014 as a 100', and after building 19 of them, Ocean Alexander changed the model names of metric nomenclature in 2020 and has since grown to 106 feet, 6 inches with a 23-foot beam. In 2021, it lost its flagship when the 37L was introduced which is probably the 32L's biggest competitor. The yacht, which was presented at Lauderdale, was the latest development with some easily recognizable features borrowed from the 37L, such as the vertical windows in the owner's suite. But rather than just being a smaller version, the 32L retains its own identity.

Performance

Walking into the air-conditioned engine room, it's obvious that the designers prioritized easy access to all mechanical systems. Two Mann 1900 V-12 diesels propel the 32L to a top speed of 23 knots. In addition, the two 40 kW Kohler generators and the desalination system are additional equipment that helps save space. At the same time, the Side-Power Vector Fin system ensures stabilization.

Exterior

With an overall length of 32.4 meters, the OCEAN ALEXANDER 32L makes an excellent first impression with its hydraulic teak swim platform. Large enough to accommodate the base of a tender, it also functions as a 'submersible' lounge area, where guests are one with the water, making access to the sea easy.

Up one of two matching staircases on the main deck is the raised aft seating area, which has two tables for ease of movement and makes for a lovely alfresco dining area. Entering the salon through the electric glass door reveals a light and airy space, thanks to the extensive use of deck-to-ceiling glass and the Novus Mist color palette with light gray oak cabinetry and natural oak sole. The commitment to quality is demonstrated by the lounge's contemporary L-shaped seating furniture, designed by Ocean Alexander but manufactured by Italian craftsmen at Poltrona Frau, which has showrooms in Hollywood, Milan, Paris and London. For those who prefer darker oak cabinets, OA offers Novus Dusk.

Owners can choose an alternative bridge deck crane that moves the hot tub further forward to create a more open relaxation area. Without the crane, the hot tub can be placed behind and surrounded by a comfortable lounge. A wet bar with stools is directly behind the hot tub on the starboard side, on the port side is a U-shaped lounge with a convertible table. The cockpit has three 32-inch Garmin monitors to monitor all the ship's systems.

Interior Configuration

On the Ocean Alexander 32 Legend, the owner's cabin is located forward on the main deck, while vertical forward windows replace the slanted windows in previous versions and offer a stunning 270-degree view.

Often, the galleys are secluded from diners, but one of the recent changes is the addition of sliding doors that can be opened to allow for social interaction with the chef or food presentation. The galley is equipped with appliances such as a Wolf range and cooktop, Viking microwave and full-size Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, along with plenty of food prep space, giving the chef an environment conducive to excellence. There's even a watertight entrance so the crew can stock the kitchen without interrupting guests.

Moving on to the lower deck, the respective VIP cabins are positioned amidships with queen size double beds. The fourth guest cabin features a clever and flexible bunk arrangement that allows guests to push the two single beds together with a bedside table to one end or separate them, with a table in the middle. The fifth cabin has been set up as a children's room and featured a fold-down upper bunk and plenty of play space. As an alternative the owners could use the open floor for exercise equipment or add an office to convert it into a workspace.

The Ocean Alexander 32L is ideal for private ownership or charter.
